This project requires a graduate to understand how different stress responses in plants interact, and what differences there are in interactions between key crops. This is vital in order to produce reliable broad-spectrum new products for farmers to manage stress response via foliar sprays. Such products would have a positive global impact, and allow farmers to produce more reliable crop yields with less seasonal variation using lower levels of inputs. Applicants should have a background in plant biology or agriculture and relevant industrial experience would be desirable. The project will involve both analytical laboratory-based experiments and field-scale trials.
