Further information

Both Red Ninja Ltd. and the University of Liverpool School of Architecture have an established track record and expertise in creating effective applications for mobile devices. In response to known needs, the two partners are combining their joint skills, knowledge and individual innovations to develop a mobile-focused optimised pedestrian route finding and information delivery feature that will enable efficient guiding of pedestrians throughout the city, and to facilities and services like recycle centres and bring banks, via an approach that innovates by integrating a suite of technologies. A consequence is better informed city visitors and the key benefit is integration of features that will reduce the carbon footprint and thus stimulate sustainability.

The two core research and development activities will be:

  • The integration of best practice in mobile location and information delivery using current and future-proof technologies, so that the user-appropriate interfaces developed for the devices have, developed behind them, efficient but powerful computational technologies, to deliver smart eco-information.
  • The assembly and presentation of information on city and region eco-services, and systems (such as public transport) that are geared towards supporting and encouraging a sustainable and healthy lifestyle.

You will have a 2:1 or above or a masters degree in either:

  • Architecture, Planning or related discipline, and have very good digital skills

  • Software engineering or related discipline, and have good interface/mobile application skills
