The UK government has launched an initiative to deploy smart meters across the country by 2020, to help consumers manage their energy use, save money and reduce CO2 emissions with the real-time information on their energy consumption. To fully explore the benefits of smart meters, the proposed project is to develop an easy-to-use and low-cost web App based IT solution for monitoring and controlling the remote on-site usage of energy, water and waste in domestic commercial buildings, including multi-tenanted properties, aiming to reduce the energy and water consumption and increase waste recyclability. The project is suitable for a PhD candidate with EEE/CS background
