An exceptional one-year full-time course with strong links to the Oil Industry.Places a strong emphasis on the fundamental principles behind the geophysical techniques used for hydrocarbon exploration and development, as well as on quantitative applications and skills, through advanced level lecturers courses, field work (UK and Colorado), integrated team projects and independent research.Teaches modern petroleum industry methods and practices, utilising state-of-the-art software and hardware for 2D/3D seismic interpretation, modelling of petroleum systems, petrophysics and reservoir characterisation.Provides training in the allied disciplines of geostatistics, reservoir engineering’ and petroleum economics and risk analysis.Integrated with sister MSc courses in Petroleum Geoscience and Petroleum Engineering.Develops transferable skills and time/project management.
